Sometimes, the most meaningful ideas come from a simple moment. For us, it all began with one thought: Aren’t we lucky? And while I’d love to take credit for it, those three words were first said by a close friend in highschool (more than ten years ago), sparking a perspective that would eventually shape everything Aren’t We Lucky stands for today. That single thought grew into something much bigger—not yet a brand but a mindset.

I didn’t know it then, but those three words would become an invisible string thread throughout my life over the course of the next several years (I’ll save those stories for another time). With my brother and now business partner, Mark, we wanted to build something that wasn’t just about creating products but creating a movement around celebrating gratitude, positivity, and connection.

The brand, which began in our parents’ garage, started with hats—statements that travel with you to the beach, on road trips, to impromptu sunsets, and everywhere in between (they are also one size fits all and we are learning this whole retail thing as we go).

Our hats, however, were just the beginning. As we continue to grow, we’re dreaming up new ways to bring the Aren’t We Lucky spirit to life—through collaborations, new products, and storytelling. But one thing will always remain the same: our commitment to spreading positivity and building a community grounded in gratitude.
